Welcome to Everybody’s Business. These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the Everybody’s Business website, directory, business listings, accounts, subscription plans, and related services.
By accessing or using Everybody’s Business, creating an account, submitting or claiming a business listing, or purchasing a paid plan, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. ABOUT EVERYBODY’S BUSINESS
Everybody’s Business operates an online business directory serving Ottawa and surrounding communities.
Our platform helps consumers discover local businesses and allows business owners and authorized representatives to create, claim, manage, and promote business listings.

2. ELIGIBILITY AND ACCOUNTS
You must provide accurate and current information when creating an account or submitting a business listing.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activities performed through your account.
You must notify us if you believe your account has been accessed or used without authorization.
3. BUSINESS LISTINGS
Business owners and authorized representatives may submit, claim, manage, or update business listings.
Information submitted for publication may include business names, descriptions, addresses or service areas, telephone numbers, websites, social-media links, business hours, photographs, logos, videos, services, promotions, offers, and other business information.
By submitting information, you confirm that you have the authority and necessary rights to provide and publish that information.
4. ACCURACY OF LISTINGS
Business owners are responsible for keeping their listing information accurate and current.
Everybody’s Business does not guarantee that information contained in a business listing is complete, accurate, current, or error-free.
We may correct, restrict, suspend, reject, or remove listings that contain inaccurate, misleading, inappropriate, unauthorized, or prohibited information.
5. BUSINESS PLANS AND FEATURES
Everybody’s Business may offer free and paid listing plans, including Basic, Plus, Premium, or other plans introduced from time to time.
Features, limits, pricing, promotional benefits, and availability may vary by plan.
We may modify plan features or introduce new features as the platform develops. Material changes affecting paid subscribers will be communicated where appropriate.
6. PAYMENTS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
Paid services must be paid according to the price and billing terms displayed at the time of purchase.
Applicable taxes may be added where required.
If a plan renews automatically, the renewal terms will be disclosed during the purchase or checkout process.
Failure to complete a required payment may result in the suspension or downgrade of paid features.
7. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Customers may cancel paid services according to the cancellation options and terms presented with their subscription.
Cancellation normally prevents future renewals but does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund for services already provided.
Any applicable refund terms will be stated at the time of purchase or in our refund policy.
8. REVIEWS, RATINGS, AND USER CONTENT
Users may be permitted to submit reviews, ratings, comments, photographs, or other content.
Content must reflect genuine experiences and must not contain unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, fraudulent, misleading, discriminatory, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate material.
Businesses may not manipulate ratings or reviews through fake accounts, fabricated reviews, incentives that require positive reviews, or other deceptive practices.
We reserve the right to moderate or remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
9. PROHIBITED USE
You may not use Everybody’s Business to engage in fraud, impersonation, unlawful activity, harassment, spam, unauthorized data collection, malicious software distribution, or attempts to interfere with the operation or security of the website.
You may not create or claim a business listing without authorization from the business or its authorized representative.
10. PHOTOGRAPHS, LOGOS, VIDEOS, AND OTHER MEDIA
You must have the necessary rights or permission to upload photographs, logos, videos, trademarks, graphics, or other media.
By submitting content for publication, you grant Everybody’s Business a non-exclusive licence to display, reproduce, resize, format, and otherwise use that content as reasonably necessary to operate and promote the directory and your listing.
You retain ownership of content you own.
11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Everybody’s Business name, branding, website design, original graphics, software, directory structure, and original website content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Everybody’s Business intellectual property to users.
12. THIRD-PARTY BUSINESSES AND SERVICES
Everybody’s Business provides a platform for discovering and connecting with independent businesses.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, businesses listed on the directory are independent from Everybody’s Business.
Everybody’s Business is not a party to transactions between directory users and listed businesses and does not control the quality, safety, pricing, availability, licensing, qualifications, or performance of independent businesses.
Users should independently evaluate a business before purchasing products or services.
13. EXTERNAL LINKS
Listings and pages may contain links to third-party websites, social-media platforms, maps, payment providers, booking services, or other external resources.
Everybody’s Business does not control and is not responsible for third-party websites, services, privacy practices, availability, or content.
14. DIRECTORY AVAILABILITY
We aim to maintain reliable access to Everybody’s Business but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We may temporarily restrict access for maintenance, upgrades, security, technical problems, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
15. SUSPENSION OR REMOVAL
We reserve the right to review, reject, suspend, restrict, or remove accounts, listings, reviews, or other content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or reasonable platform standards.
Serious or repeated violations may result in account termination.
16. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Everybody’s Business provides the directory and related services on an “as available” basis.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Everybody’s Business is not responsible for losses resulting from reliance on inaccurate listing information, interactions or transactions with independent businesses, third-party websites or services, service interruptions, or unauthorized content submitted by users.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
17. PRIVACY
Use of Everybody’s Business is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information may be collected, used, disclosed, and protected.
18. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our services, business practices, technology, or legal requirements.
The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will indicate the most recent revision.
Continued use of the service following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by applicable law.
19. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
Any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection or other mandatory laws remain unaffected.
